Tree Life was established in 1997 under the guidance of Dave Dowson who has worked in the industry for 41 years. Formally he worked in further education, the majority of time as a lecturer in Arboriculture at Brooksby College. Dave is a Fellow of the Arboricultural Association (AA), he then became a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters and a UK registered and qualified expert witness. Dave has continued to gain qualifications and in 2015 he completed his Masters in Educational Assessment.

Tree Life focuses on providing specialist training for those candidates who are studying towards attaining ABC qualifications in Arboriculture at Certificate and Diploma levels 4 and 6.

In 2004 Andy Summerley joined the company from lecturing at Moulton College, previous to that Andy spent many years at Kettering Borough Council managing contract operations.

Both Dave and Andy are qualified teachers having spent 50 years between them teaching practical and management level arboriculture. Both also hold the AA Technician's Certificate & Professional Diploma.

In 2018 Tony Price joined Tree Life having studied with us for his Level 4 Diploma and Level 6 Diploma & brings an enormous amount of experience with him.

In between lecturing across the UK, Europe and Internationally Tree Life operates a consultancy service carrying out work for clients in relation to development sites, mortgage reports, subsidence investigations, safety inspections and tree surveys etc. The consultancy lends the credibility to the teaching provision, in that - we can do it and teach it!
