Tree Life AT Ltd Arboricultural Assessor and Consultant Job Description

The Role

Tree Life has a national reputation for delivering focused arboricultural training at a range of levels, offering pathways for progression from tools or assistant posts to tree officer or consultant roles. The training is mostly delivered on-line with students submitting written work to demonstrate their understanding and knowledge.

These assignments are assessed against a model answer to ensure there is a consistent standard across the qualifications or training programme. This is the role of the assessor.

It is a great way to embed previously learning, and to grow your own arboricultural knowledge and confidence. There is opportunity to engage with learners and to help them develop their own skills and understanding.

Tree Life are looking for assessors nationwide. It is essential that you are motivated, engaging, and inspiring, and have some arboricultural knowledge as a base. You may be looking for a career change from practical to consulting, or moving from one are of arboriculture to another. You may already be involved in arboricultural-related education or training.

This role can be worked flexibly.

It is essential that you have:

  • A minimum Level 4 Diploma in Arboriculture; or equivalent.
  • Experienced in the field of arboriculture.
  • Excellent written communication skills and computer/IT skills.
  • The ability to work well in a team while being self-motivated
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail to deliver a consistent standard of assessing.

It would be desirable if you have one or more of the following:

  • Level 3 Assessor or equivalent / A teaching qualification relevant to the discipline.
  • Level 6 or equivalent in Arboriculture.
  • Prior experience of educational assessment.
  • Internal Verification (IV) and/or quality assurance (EQA/IQA).
  • Prior experience of providing arboricultural consultancy
