Tree Report Writing for Arboriculturists

Effective report writing is a distinct skill that goes beyond simply being an excellent Arboriculturist. The more complex the case, the greater the expertise needed to deliver a successful document. To bridge this gap, Tree Life has developed a practical, one-day programme designed to elevate your technical writing. This course provides expert guidance and a structured opportunity to draft a report and receive comprehensive, personalised feedback on your performance.

Aim of the course:  Our report writing course focuses on developing the vital skills needed to produce high-quality reports that thoroughly inform the client while robustly protecting the report author. To ensure practical mastery, attendees will complete a sample report and submit it to Tree Life for comprehensive, personalised written feedback on their performance.

Guide to the day: The day begins with an informative morning presentation. Following this, you will step out to conduct a real-world single tree inspection, managing everything from initial instructions through to structured data collection. You will then learn how to accurately write up your findings into a professional report layout, complete with clear recommendations. Your course tutor will provide continuous, hands-on guidance at every stage of the report-construction process, and you will leave at the end of the day with a completed sample report to use, if desired, as a template for your future professional work. This template will be in Microsoft Word format.
