Tree Report Writing for Arboriculturists

The aim of the course:

This course guides you through the process of constructing a report based on a single tree inspection, from initial data collection and client instructions through to management recommendations. The tutor will offer support at each stage, and you will receive a completed sample report at the end of the day, which can be used as a template for future work.

Tree report writing is an additional skill required to that of simply being a good arboriculturist, the higher the level of report required the greater the degree of skill required to write a successful report for your clients. Tree Life has put together a practical programme that will allow a attendee to develop their report writing skills and to receive feedback on their performance. This one-day course will provide guidance and give the necessary feedback opportunities to attendees undertaking report writing instruction.
The programme for the day includes a presentation in the morning followed by an inspection of a tree followed by writing up the data into a report format. The course will provide the tools to construct a preliminary ground level report of a single tree inspection carried out on the day.

Course outcome:

  • Attendees can write a good report that informs the client appropriately whilst protecting the report author.
  • Attendees will undertake a report and submit that to Tree Life for written feedback on their performance.
